I personally am not a huge fan of mayonnaise especially if its coleslaw because I feel that restaurant version usually drench it in mayonnaise. I made some BBQ chicken for some BBQ chicken sandwiches for Todd and I. I really wanted to include some coleslaw with it, because you can’t have BBQ without some coleslaw right? So I created this Apple cider vinegar based coleslaw, which is now a staple in our household, even Todd was loving it and he loves traditional coleslaw.
This coleslaw is super easy to prepare ahead of time and taste even better a day later since the flavors marinate. It is grain free, dairy free, paleo, and Whole 30 approved.
Here is what you’ll need to create your coleslaw:
- 1 bag of coleslaw mix, I buy mine at Trader Joes
- Green onions
- Cilantro
- Apple cider Vinegar
- Primal Kitchen Foods spicy brown mustard
- Salt + pepper to taste
- Olive oil
Mix everything in a large bowl and store in the fridge.
Here are some dishes you can pair the coleslaw with:
