Spooky Chocolate Toffee Pretzel Bark:

For every holiday, I make this chocolate toffee pretzel bark. Because it is always a crowd pleaser, is super easy to make, and is the perfect sweet and salty treat. And you can make it year round by mixing up the festive sprinkles you put on top.

What you’ll need:

  1. Sugar of choice
  2. Unsalted butter room temperature
  3. Salt
  4. Gluten free pretzels or regular pretzels
  5. Dark chocolate of choice
  6. Festive sprinkles of choice

How to prepare the toffee:

Slice your room temperature sticks of butter into Tbsp slices. And add the butter, sugar, and salt to a pot on medium heat. Mix every 30 seconds for about 5 minutes. But make sure to keep an eye on it and stir throughout or else it will burn. Lower the heat to a medium low heat and continue cooking for about 10-12 minutes. Making sure to continue stirring every 30 seconds. Once the mixture turns a golden color and has thickened, remove from the heat, and let rest for a few minutes.

Preparing the bark:

Add a single layer of pretzels to a lined baking sheet. And pour the toffee mixture over the top of the pretzels. And spread all over the pretzels with a spatula. Melt your chocolate and spread over the top of the toffee. And sprinkle the top with festive sprinkles. Transfer to the refrigerator and refrigerate until the chocolate has set.

How to break up into pieces:

And to break up into bark pieces. You can either cut with a sharp knife or break up with your fingers.

How to store:

Keep stored in an airtight container at room temperature.

  • 1 cup sugar of choice
  • 2 sticks unsalted butter room temperature
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 50 Gluten free pretzels or regular pretzels
  • 1 cup dark chocolate of choice
  • Festive sprinkles of choice

Instructions

Instructions:

  • Add parchment paper to a lined baking sheet and add a single layer of pretzels
  • Slice your room temperature sticks of butter into Tbsp slices
  • Add butter, sugar, and salt to pot on medium heat mixing every 30 seconds for 5 minutes
  • Lower heat to a medium low heat and continue cooking for about 10-12 minutes. Stirring with a spatula every 30 seconds.
  • Once your mixture turns a golden color and has thickened remove from heat, pour over the pretzels, and spread with spatula to create an even layer
  • Let the toffee mixture rest for 3-5 minutes
  • Add chocolate on top
  • And spread to create an even layer. If your chocolate isn’t melting you can add to oven on 200 F for 3-5 minutes or until chocolate is melted
  • Sprinkle with festive sprinkles
  • Transfer to refrigerator to allow the chocolate to set (about 30 minutes)
  • Either break up with your hands or use a sharp knife to cut up into desired size pieces
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature
