Instant Pot Paleo Chili:

I am a lover of any type of chili and this instant pot paleo chili is so delicious and easy to make. If you don’t have an instant pot you can still make it over stove top or in a crockpot.

Ingredients you will need:

  1. Ground turkey
  2. Sweet potato
  3. Zucchini
  4. Garlic Ghee
  5. Onion
  6. Fire roasted tomatoes
  7. Green chiles
  8. Oregano or if you have Primal Palate Super Gyro
  9. Paprika
  10. Chili powder
  11. Cumin
  12. Salt + pepper to taste
  13. Chicken or turkey Bone broth

How to make in the instant pot:

I first set my instant pot to sauté function, added my ghee, warmed, and then added the onions with salt + pepper. Sautéed the onions for a few minutes, then added the ground turkey with seasonings, and browned a couple minutes. Next, I added the fire roasted tomatoes, diced chiles, chicken bone broth, mix, and turn off sauté function. Lastly, I added sweet potatoes and zucchini on top (don’t mix) close instant pot, seal valve, and set to chili function for 5 minutes. Once done let the pressure release naturally (10-15 minutes).

Making over stove top:

If making it over stove top follow the same directions, only you are going to simmer for about 30 minutes.

Making in crockpot:

Sauté the onions with ghee in a pan, add the ground turkey, and brown a couple minutes with seasoning. Add everything to crock pot and cook either on high for 4 hours or low for 6-8 hours.

Meal prep:

I like to meal prep a big batch of this on Sunday. Because not only does it make it super convenient for me during my busy work week, but the flavor gets way better by the second or third day. I store it in an airtight glass container for up to 3-4 days.

Serves 4


  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 medium sweet potato
  • 1 medium zucchini
  • 1 Tbsp garlic ghee
  • 1/3 cup diced onions
  • 1 14.5 oz fire roasted tomatoes
  • 4 oz can of diced green chiles
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • Salt + pepper to taste
  • 1 package of chicken bone broth about 2-3 cups


  • Set instant pot to Sauté function and sauté onions with ghee and salt and pepper
  • Add the ground turkey with seasoning and brown a couple minutes
  • Add the fire roasted tomatoes, diced green Chiles, and bone broth and mix
  • Add the diced sweet potatoes and zucchini on top
  • Turn off sauté function and set to chili function for 5 minutes on high pressure
  • Once done let pressure release naturally (about 10-15 minutes)
  • Top with cilantro
