If you want a homemade version of beef and broccoli then you must try this easy instant pot beef and broccoli dish. If you don’t have an instant pot you can easily prepare in your slow cooker as well you will just need to adjust time accordingly. Todd loves his Panda Express, so there was a week I stuck to coming up with all of his favorites from there only made healthier and with real ingredients. I always get so nervous when presenting him with healthier versions of his favorite comfort meals, because he is super picky. However, I am happy to report he has requested this meal to be in our weeknight meal rotations, YAY!!! Believe me when I say this is super easy to prepare and pretty much foolproof.

What you will need:

  1. I used Buy Ranch Direct flank steak but you can use whatever cut of meat you’d like
  2. Tapioca flour (this is used to thicken the sauce)
  3. Coconut aminos
  4. Sesame oil
  5. Minced garlic
  6. Chili flakes
  7. Avocado oil
  8. Beef bone broth
  9. Salt and Pepper to taste

Once you have all your ingredients you are going to set your instant pot to the saute function and heat your avocado oil. Once warm add your steak that you coated with your tapioca flour, salt + pepper,  and brown a couple minutes each side. Then add in your coconut aminos, sesame oil, garlic, chili flakes, and cook a couple more minutes. Add in your bone broth, making sure the meat is covered in the broth. Cover your instant pot, seal valve, set instant pot to meat function for 10 minutes. Once done let the pressure release naturally, about 10-15 minutes. Then open your instant pot add in the broccolini, close instant pot, and let the broccolini sit for 5 minutes to allow the broccolini to get tender.

 

Instant pot Mongolian beef and broccoli

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Buy Ranch Direct flank steak
  • 2 tbsp tapioca flour
  • 1/3 cup coconut aminos
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 tsp minced garlic
  • Salt + pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp red chili flakes
  • 1 tbsp avocado oil
  • 3/4 cup Bonafide Provisions beef bone broth

Instructions

  • Instructions:
  • Set instant pot to sauté function and add avocado oil to instant pot
  • Cut flank steak Into slices and coat With tapioca flour, salt + pepper
  • Add flank steak to instant pot and brown for a couple minutes
  • Add garlic, coconut aminos, sesame oil and cook for another couple minutes
  • Add 3/4 cup beef bone broth
  • Cover instant pot and set to meat for 10 minutes
  • Let pressure release on its own by letting it sit for 15 minutes, then turn valve to release any pressure left
  • Add in broccolini and let it sit for 5 minutes in juices
