These melt in your mouth steak fajitas are life changing. I am not going to lie, cooking meat i’ve always been intimated, since nobody likes dried out meat right? However, ever since purchasing my instant pot, cooking meat has never been so easy. It is pretty much fail proof now that I cook it in my instant pot, and it leaves my meat super moist, tender, and melts in your mouth.
I was in the mood for some fajitas so instead of baking them like I typically do, I thought I would make them in my instant pot.
Here are the steps I took to create these yummy melt in your mouth fajitas:
- Step one: set you instant pot to saute function, add avocado oil and heat
- Step 2: add in your onions, jalapenos, salt + pepper, and saute for 5 minutes
- Step 3: add in your sliced steak seasoned with taco seasoning, and brown a couple minutes
- Step 4: turn off your instant pot, add broth, cilantro, bell peppers, and close instant pot
- Step 5: set your instant pot to manual high pressure for 30 minutes
- Step 6: once done do quick release of pressure
Note: If you want your bell peppers to be a bit more firmer, I would suggest adding them in once your meat is done. The bell peppers did turn out softer than I wanted by adding them in with the meat.
I served mine over some cauliflower mash but these would be perfect for:
- Tacos
- Taco salads
- Quesadilla filling
