Grass fed beef burger:

The perfect send off to summer, a loaded homemade grass fed + finished burger. And it is super easy to put it all together at home.


Ingredients you will need:

  1. Grass fed + finished ground beef or any type of meat you like
  2. Yellow onion
  3. Homemade special sauce
  4. Brioche buns or any type of buns/bread you like, lettuce wraps
  5. Primal Palate Meat and Potato seasoning (substitute: oregano, paprika, onion powder)
  6. Garlic powder
  7. Salt and pepper
  8. Pepper jack cheese or any type of cheese you like
  9. Ghee or avocado oil
  10. Bacon
  11. Lettuce
  12. Spicy brown mustard + ketchup
  13. Pickles
  14. Avocado

How to prep the meat patties/sliders:

For the meat patties, you can either make sliders or larger patties. I went with the smaller slider route but larger meat patties work best if using regular size buns. Bring the meat to room temperature for at least 30 minutes. Season with the seasoning, mix with your hands, and form into desired size patties. And add to a hot grill pan and cook a few minute each side. Cook time will depend on how you like your burgers, I like mine more on the medium well side.

Making the caramelized onions:

Add ghee or avocado oil to a pan and warm through on medium high heat. Add the sliced onions, with salt + pepper, and sauté for 7-10 minutes, or until translucent.

Baking bacon:

I love to bake my bacon. I add the bacon slices to a lined baking dish with parchment paper. And bake 400°F for 20-23 minutes, flipping half way through. And once done, transfer to a dish  and pat off excess oil with a paper towel.

Homemade special sauce:

My homemade special sauce, is super easy, and seriously makes these burgers 100%. Simply add all the ingredients to a bowl, mix, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. I personally like to prep mine in advance so I have it ready to go.

Putting the burgers together:

And once you have everything done, the fun part is building your burgers. I like to set up stations on my counter with all these items and everyone can create their own burger creation the way they like it.

  • Brioche buns
  • Spicy brown mustard
  • Ketchup
  • Caramelized onions
  • Special sauce
  • Lettuce
  • Pickles
  • Avocado
  • Air fried French fries or try these parmesan homemade french fries

Grass Fed + Finished Beef Burgers/Sliders

Make 8 sliders or 4 large burger patties


Meat Patties:

  • 1 lb 85/15 grass fed + finished ground beef
  • 1 Tbsp Primal Palate Meat and potato seasoning Substitute: 1/4 tsp of each: paprika, onion powder, oregano)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 slices of pepper jack cheese or any type of cheese you like


  • 1 package of bacon

Caramelized onions:

  • 1 yellow onion
  • 2 Tbsp ghee or avocado oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Special Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup avocado oil based mayo I used Primal Kitchen Foods
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened ketchup I used Primal kitchen Foods
  • 1/4-1/3 cup relish
  • 1 tsp dried onion flakes
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Other items for burgers

  • Lettuce
  • Avocado
  • Spicy mustard
  • Ketchup
  • Pickles
  • Brioche buns


Meat Patties:

  • Let meat sit at room temperature for at least 30 minutes
  • Add seasoning and mix with your hands
  • Form into desired size patties ( I made 8 sliders for mine)
  • Add to a grill pan or grill and cook a 3-4 minutes each side, cook time depends on how you like your burgers
  • Top with some pepper jack cheese or any type of cheese you like


  • Add bacon to a lined baking dish
  • Bake 400°F for 20 minutes, flipping half way through

Caramelized onions:

  • Slice your onions
  • Add ghee to a pan and warm through on medium high heat
  • Add onions, salt and pepper, and sauté for 7-10 minutes or until translucent
  • Special Sauce Instructions:
  • Add everything to a bowl and mix
  • Store in refrigerator to chill for at least 30 minutes

Putting burgers together

  • Create your burger to your liking with all the ingredients and enjoy!
