How to Make Homemade French Fries

Homemade French Fries:

There is no denying it, homemade taste 100% better. And these crispy homemade French fries are the perfect addition to any meal at home.

Ingredients you will need for fries:

  1. Russet potato
  2. Avocado oil
  3. Salt + pepper
  4. Garlic powder

But feel free to use any type of potatoes you dig for this recipe.

How to prepare the French fries:

First wash your potatoes really well, especially if keeping the skin on, and pat dry once clean. Cut the potato into your desired fry thickness. But keep in mind, the thinner you cut them, the quicker they will cook and the crisper they will get. And then add the fries to a lined baking sheet, drizzle the avocado oil all over, sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste, garlic powder, and mix it all up, making sure all the fries are coated. And bake 400 F for 35-40 minutes, flipping half way through.

What do I eat these French fries with?

These French fries can be enjoyed by themselves as a snack, with a yummy homemade grass fed burger, or used as a base for some homemade chili cheese fries. The possibilities are endless!

Dipping sauce:

And I am sure we all have our preference as far as what we like to dip our fries in. But this avocado cilantro ranch Crema makes for the perfect dipping sauce for these oven baked French fries. And it is super quick and easy to prepare.

Ingredients you will need for sauce:

  1. Avocado
  2. Cilantro
  3. Juice of a lime
  4. Apple cider vinegar
  5. Water
  6. Salt + pepper
  7. Garlic powder
  8. Primal Palate Garden Ranch Seasoning (substitute: onion powder, dried chives, and dried parsley)
How to prepare the crema:

Add all the ingredients to a high powered blender or food processor. And process until you get a smooth, creamy consistency. If you want a thinner consistency, add more water as you blend it, until you reach desired consistency.

Storing leftover crema:

This recipe yields about 1 cup and so there will be leftovers. I like to store in an airtight glass container in the refrigerator for up to 5-6 days. And will make the perfect topping to a variety of meals such as: on top of salads, on fish tacos, fish burritos, fish bowls, etc.

  • Add salt + pepper, garlic powder, and coat the fries
  • Bake 400 F for 35-40 minutes, flipping them half way through

Avocado Cilantro Ranch Crema:

Ingredients

  • 1 large ripe avocado
  • 1/2 cup cilantro
  • 1 small lime juiced
  • 2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 Tbsp Primal Palate Garden Ranch Seasoning Substitue 1/4 tsp onion powder, 1/4 tsp dried chives, 1/4 tsp dried parsley

Instructions

Instructions:

  • Add everything to a high powered blender
  • Blend it all up until you reach a creamy, smooth consistency
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 5-6 days
