Air fryer fish sticks:

I am all about making all our meals from scratch. And since I was craving some fish sticks I decided to make some easy peasy, 4 ingredient, fish sticks in my air fryer. But if you don’t have an air fryer, you can also make these by baking or pan frying.

Ingredients you will need for spicy version:

  1. Any type of white fish you have on hand, I used Vital Choice wild petrale sole
  2. Tapioca flour or any type of flour you prefer
  3.  Nut Crumbs spicy nut crumbs
  4. Large pasture raised egg

Ingredients you will need for original version:

  1. Vital Choice Wild caught cod filets
  2. Tapioca flour
  3. Original Nut crumbs (substitute regular bread crumbs)
  4. Seasonings: onion powder, garlic powder, oregano, paprika, salt and pepper to taste
  5. Large pasture raised egg

Dredging station:

I set up a dredging station to prepare my fish sticks. On my cutting board I had my wild petrale sole or wild caught cod sliced into fish sticks, in 1 bowl I had my whisked egg, in another bowl my tapioca flour, and in another bowl the nut crumbs ( if not using the spicy nut crumbs mix in the seasoning to original crumbs). I dipped the fish in the tapioca flour, egg wash, then nut crumbs, and added to my greased air fryer pan.

How to prepare in air fryer:

I cooked my fish sticks in my air fryer on 350 F for 8-10 minutes flipping half way through. But if you are going to bake I would do 350 F for about 8-10 minutes. And if pan frying, I would heat oil in a pan and cook a few minutes each side.

What to serve with:

I like to enjoy these fish sticks in a variety of meals. I like to pair with some roasted broccoli while dipping in Primal Kitchen foods Tarter sauce, in fish tacos or burritos with a mango salsa, or in a fish salad.

These are the spicy version with roasted broccoli and tartar sauce.

And these are the original version garnished with fresh cilantro and dipped in tartar sauce.
