Todd and I have been working a lot lately and haven’t really had much time to connect and just hang without any distractions. So we decided to do a little staycation in North County, San Diego at The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe. This place had a laidback luxury vibe that we instantly fell in love with. Our trip was short but sweet and exactly what the two of us needed to reconnect and recharge our batteries.

What we did while staying at The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe:

Hang By The Pool:

We arrived earlier than check in because we wanted to spend time lounging by the pool. We checked in, stored our bags with the front desk, and headed to the pool.

Poolside Menu:

I was starving when we arrived so I checked out their poolside menu and ordered the delicious grass fed Inn burger. I customized mine to be a lettuce wrap and instead of the fries I got a fresh salad, the perfect poolside meal. What I really liked about their menu is that they had Spa options which are considered their healthy choices on their menu. Also all of the menu’s were clearly labeled with V,GF, and Spa options. Lots of options to make everyone in your party happy!

Check in:

We got a call that our room was ready, we went to the front desk got our keys and bags, and headed to our cute cottage.  All of the guest rooms and cottages are nestled around the most spectacular garden views. There was greenery everywhere and it just felt like we were transported somewhere far away. Our room had a wood-burning fireplace, a private patio, and such a romantic ambiance. I was obsessed with the chandelier too in our room, I told Todd we need it in our house.

The Inside Of Our Room:

We had to take a selfie in front of the mirror to share how cute the room was! There is the chandelier I was obsessed with and want in my home now.

Dine & Drinks

The Huntsman Whiskey Bar

We stopped by The Huntsman Whiskey Bar to enjoy some drinks before heading off to dinner. This is a whiskey bar, so if whiskey is your thing, you definitely need to go here. But don’t worry if you are like me, and don’t like whiskey, they will still make you delicious drink. Just tell them your preference, and they will make you something delicious, like they did for me. You can enjoy drinks by the fire or outside on a nice summer night.

Dinner at Morada

After drinks, we headed over to the Morada restaurant, which is right next door to the bar. Reservations are suggested so keep that in mind when planning your stay. Their menu is loaded with seasonal ingredients and creative comfort food meals everyone will enjoy.

What we ordered:

  1. Skuna Bay Salmon with steamed broccoli (spa, gf)
  2. Braised Beef short ribs with parsnip puree and charred broccolini (gf, spa)
  3. Fried Brussels sprouts (gf, v)
  4. Three cheese macaroni
  5. Creme Brûlée

Breakfast On Our Private Patio

I loved our private patio so we enjoyed our breakfast the next day on our patio before getting the day started.

What we ordered:

  • Rejuvenating Green juice
  • Greek yogurt and roasted pineapple
  • Seasonal fruit

Gym Amenities

Their gym was a good size and had a variety of equipment to allow you to get a full body workout. They also offer yoga classes too if you wanted to sign up, maybe next time I will try those classes out.

Enjoy Brunch at Morada

What we ordered:

  • Huevos Rancheros (gf) HIGHLY RECOMMEND this dish

Overall, we had such an amazing time ,and we can’t wait to plan another trip back. If you are looking for a laid back luxury place to stay in San Diego I highly suggest you check this place out, you won’t be dissapointed.
