Growing up one of our favorite places to dine at was Filippi’s Pizza. I think we would go here to enjoy a family dinner once a month. Our go to order always consisted of the antipasto salad, spaghetti and meatballs, and of course PIZZA. I always looked forward to was the antipasto salad, because this girl loves a good salad, and yes even as a kid I loved salads.
Now a days I rarely will eat out, because I personally enjoy cooking and would rather make items I am craving at home. Not only does this help me save money but it allows me to know what ingredients are going into my food. It’s been years since I have been to Filippi’s but I recently had a major craving for their antipasto salad. So I decided to recreate my own at home, and boy was it DELICIOUS.
Here is what I included in my antipasto salad:
- Romaine lettuce (save yourself some time and buy the already chopped one)
- Butter lettuce
- Prosciutto
- Uncured spicy toscana salami
- Black olives
- Green peppers
- Pepperchinis
- Italian dressing ( I personally love Primal kitchen’s)
- Cheese
- Artichokes
The directions are easy, just assemble over your lettuce, drizzle the dressing over it all, and enjoy!
